Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that North Dakota State University (NDSU) is in production with the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution and Alma library management solution.
Following a swift implementation process, NDSU Libraries now enjoy two unified, cloud-based solutions - Primo, for the discovery of all library collections, and Alma, for unified resource management - instead of managing print and electronic resources separately through multiple systems, as in the past.
According to Dr. Lisa Feldner of ND University System Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Institutional Research, this implementation of Primo and Alma by NDSU Libraries brings together multiple library collections and resources in a single, powerful, and easy to understand presentation. The new library system will make research more efficient for NDSU students and faculty and significantly improve library services.
North Dakota State University is distinctive as a student-focused, land-grant research university, ranked by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education among the top 108 public and private universities in the country and listed in the elite Carnegie category of Research Universities (very high research activity). One of two flagship universities in North Dakota and part of the 11-member North Dakota University System, NDSU offers several programs ranked by the National Science Foundation in its top 100 list. NDSU has over 12,000 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate students.
