NPG and ASGCT announce new OA journal, Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development -

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) have announced a new online open access journal, Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development. Launching in Q1 2014, Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development will explore novel methods and technology development, as well as significant improvements to established research techniques in basic, translational, and clinical cell and gene therapy.

Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development is a sister journal to the well-established and highly respected journal, Molecular Therapy (2012 Impact Factor 7.041). Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development builds upon the success of Molecular Therapy and Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids. It will publish important peer-reviewed methods and procedures, as well as reviews and commentaries targeted to technological and methodological advances in the broad array of fields under the molecular therapy umbrella.

Molecular Therapy – Methods & Clinical Development will make all content freely available to all researchers worldwide. Authors of accepted manuscripts are charged an article-processing fee dependent upon article type and license chosen. Articles are published under a choice of Creative Commons licenses: CC BY-NC-SA, CC BY-NC-ND, or CC-BY.

The editorial team is lead by Matthew H. Porteus, MD, an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University in the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplantation and Human Gene Therapy.

Molecular Therapy – Methods and Clinical Development joins over 60 journals in NPG’s journal portfolio that have either an open access option or are entirely open access.
