OA journal BMC Medical Research Methodology achieves 250th publication mark -

Open access publisher BioMed Central, US, has announced that open access journal BMC Medical Research Methodology has achieved its 250th publication. The journal is the seventh medical journal in the BMC series to reach the milestone of 250 publications. The BMC series is a group of open access, peer-reviewed research-only journals that spans most areas of biological and clinical research.

BMC Medical Research Methodology has grown steadily since its launch in 2001 and publications have doubled in the last three years. The journal offers a venue for biomedical methodologists where they can share and disseminate their work and developments on approaches to healthcare research, including the design and reporting of clinical trials and statistical methods relevant to clinical research.

The 250th article, 'The ratio of means method as an alternative to mean differences for analyzing continuous outcome variables in meta-analysis: A simulation study' by Jan Friedrich and colleagues from the University of Toronto, presents a novel approach for pooling continuous outcomes in meta-analyses. The article has already been accessed over 1,000 times.
