OASPA has announced that the number of members has now reached the 100 mark.
OASPA continues to receive much interest and support from organisations wanting to join as members, and is growing steadily as a result. OASPA's membership includes a wide range of individual academic-led titles, small, medium and large sized professional open access publishers with a variety of innovative open access publishing models, and supporting organisations that provide related services.
Recent new members of OASPA include: The British Editorial Society of Bone and Joint Surgery, a small subject-specific publisher; Ingenta Connect, a content distribution service for publishers; VU University Library Amsterdam, which hosts three open access journals; and SciELO, a cooperative platform for digital publishing of scientific journals with national focal points in 15 countries.
Other scholarly publishing organisations to recently become OASPA members include two open access journals run by academics on a voluntary basis: Confero: Essays on Education, Philosophy and Politics, and The Journal of Creative Technologies.
The addition of this range of new members to the association is testament to the prevailing diversity of OASPA’s membership, which serves to greatly enrich and progress discussions around open access, and strengthen both the OASPA network and the wider open access publishing community.
