Library information provider OCLC Research is to host a webinar on May 14, 2013, titled 'Managing Research Data—from Goals to Reality'. It has invited all OCLC Research Library Partners to join the dialogue between Sally Rumsey, Digital Research Librarian at the Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford, and Wendy Kozlowski, Science Data and Metadata Librarian at Cornell University. The dialogue is about how they are managing research data - the raw output of research investigations, not the resulting reports.
Rumsey and Kozlowski will both provide the context in which they are handling research data, including their goals, current activities and plans, with demonstrations of the systems they are developing.
OCLC Research Library Partners in attendance who are also managing research data are invited to chime in on how they are addressing the issues the two librarians rise. OCLC Research Programme Officer Karen Smith-Yoshimura will provide an overview of OCLC Research activities in various aspects of dataset curation and will facilitate the discussion.
OCLC Research Library Partners are invited to register for 60 minutes of presentation and discussion in this free webinar. A recording of the webinar will be made publicly available on the OCLC Research website, on YouTube and in iTunes in March.
