The UK's Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) has announced that international library organisation OCLC will be the main sponsor of the JISC Conference 2008, scheduled for next month. This will be the first time for OCL to sponsor the event.
Established more than 40 years ago, OCLC develops products and services for the library community, undertakes research and connects libraries around the world. OCLC representatives have expressed happiness over sponsoring the conference, particularly as this year's event will see the launch of JISC's 'Libraries of the Future' communication theme.
With conference places now filled and registration closed, those unable to attend the conference in person will be able to follow it online through a number of interactive web activities. These include live video streaming of keynote sessions, micro-blogging, shared images from the conference, and podcasts of interviews and sessions.
