OhioLINK, Ohio's renowned academic library consortium, has announced its strategic alliance with Ex Libris Alma, a division of Clarivate™, as the chosen shared library services platform for the consortium. This cloud-based platform selection is poised to revolutionize library user experiences and services, streamline operational efficiencies, and foster enhanced collaboration and consortial capabilities. The anticipated implementation process for the 117 member libraries of OhioLINK is estimated to span up to two years.
In tandem with Alma, OhioLINK is set to integrate Primo VE, accompanied by a suite of associated products including Leganto, Rapido, and Library Mobile. This comprehensive portfolio is designed to enrich services for users, library staff, and administrative stakeholders. The incorporation of Leganto will notably establish core integration with on-campus learning management systems.
Amy Pawlowski, Executive Director of OhioLINK, spearheaded the creation of the consortium's selection process and orchestrated the contract negotiation for this transformative library services platform.
For over three decades, the OhioLINK consortium has diligently worked to expand member libraries' access to shared electronic and print resources at significantly reduced costs. The capital funding awarded in June 2022 underscores OhioLINK's commitment to leveraging its cooperative purchasing power and collective technical expertise for the benefit of its 89 member institutions.
As OhioLINK embarks on this transformative journey with Ex Libris, the stage is set for a revitalized academic resource landscape that embraces technological advancements and propels scholarly pursuits forward.
