ORCID is starting its 2017 US road show series in Chicago in April, followed by a series of European workshops in May. These events bring together the cross-sector ORCID community and provide an opportunity to share stories, technology and outreach approaches, and meet directly with ORCID staff. Registration is always free. More details and registration information for the workshops are available in the events page.
The first stop of the US roadshow will be on April 27 at the Big Ten Conference Center in Rosemont, IL, conveniently located near Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The event’s theme is ‘ORCID for Researchers and Organizations - Why, What, How?’ In addition to presentations from ORCID staff, members, and ambassadors, representatives from ORCID’s community and technical teams will be holding open office hours. Information about Texas and Atlanta events will be available later in the year.
On May 16 ORCID is hosting a workshop at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The workshop coincides with ORCID’s Board meeting. Several ORCID directors and Board members will be presenting, along with representatives from ORCID member organisations Stockholm University, Peerwith and PLOS. The workshop will include a consortium panel discussion featuring representatives from Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
On May 22, ORCID will be hosting a workshop at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. The program will focus on why uniqueness matters in research and will include speakers from Tomas Bata University, EuroCRIS, and Project THOR.
On May 25, ORCID will be hosting a workshop at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest, Hungary. Program details are being finalized and will be published soon.
