OUP Southern Africa named Academic Publisher of the Year -

Academic publisher Oxford University Press Southern Africa (OUPSA) won the Sefika Academic Publisher of the Year award 2014 on August 26. It is the sixth time since 2006 that OUPSA has won the award, which recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions to the South African book industry.

The awards are decided by a vote by booksellers, with customer service, delivery times, relationships with booksellers, and support for launches and publicity events all taken into consideration.

The prize was presented at a gala event in Durban held by the South African Booksellers Association (SABA), which represents the retail book industry in South Africa.

OUP has operated in South Africa since 1915, publishing thousands of titles for a host of audiences in 11 languages. Its range includes textbooks for use in schools and higher education, as well as general literature, dictionaries, atlases, and reading schemes.
