US-based information research solutions provider Ovid Technologies has announced that it will be showcasing its new precision search and discovery platform, OvidSP, as well as new content, tools, and services, at the ongoing Online Information Conference in London. The offerings include OvidSP in-booth theater sessions; featured new archive content, including the LWW Journal Legacy Archive subsets, EMBASE Classic, and Adis Journal Legacy Archive; and non-English language support for Ovid LinkSolver.
OvidSP, launched October 2007, streamlines the information search and discovery process for all types of users - from beginners to the more advanced. Designed based on extensive feedback from end users and information managers, the tool incorporates the advanced search technology of Ovid's existing platforms, Ovid Gateway and SilverPlatter WEBSPIRS.
Ovid, part of Wolters Kluwer Health, continues to expand its growing portfolio of archival content offerings. Individual subsets of the Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) Journal Legacy Archive, launched in November of 2006, are now available. These include single-title archives of the 221 journals in the main archive; six subject-specific archives covering nursing, cardiology and hematology, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychology, psychiatry, and neurology; and an archive of Ovid's LWW High Impact Journal Collection.
Ovid LinkSolver is now able to fully resolve, display and pass along inbound links from Ovid SearchSolver, Ovid's federated search engine, and other websites that send properly configured OpenURLs containing non-English characters. Users and librarians can browse journal titles in Journals@Ovid in Japanese and Korean, in addition to Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Swedish. Users can also search and retrieve journal titles in those languages.
