Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has appointed David Clark, Senior Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences at Elsevier, as the new Managing Director of its Academic Division. David will succeed the outgoing Managing Director, Tim Barton, who leaves OUP in September after 25 years.
David joined Elsevier in 1996 as a Social and Behavioural Sciences publisher. He subsequently led three of its divisions as a Senior Vice President―Physical Sciences, Life Science and Social Science, and Health and Medical Sciences. Prior to his time at Elsevier, he worked at HM Treasury and Edward Elgar Publishing.
David will start his new role in January 2018.
