Oxford University Press provides free journals access through EAI in response to hurricanes, earthquake -

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) is partnering with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) as they launch their Emergency Access Initiative (EAI) to provide free access to biomedical research for healthcare professionals and aid workers responding to hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria, and the earthquake in Mexico.

As part of this initiative, OUP is providing free access to its full biomedical portfolio of 118 journals, including titles like Clinical Infectious Diseases, International Health, and Pathogens and Disease which will be freely available for the next four weeks.

The Emergency Access Initiative (EAI) is a partnership of the NLM, the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and the Professional/Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers and other publishers. EAI provides temporary free access to full text articles from major biomedicine titles to healthcare professionals, librarians, and the public affected by disasters. The EAI serves as a temporary collection replacement and/or supplement for libraries affected by disasters that need to continue to serve medical staff and affiliated users. It is also intended for medical personnel responding to the specified disaster.

Oxford University Press, a department of the University of Oxford, is the largest university press in the world, currently publishing over 6,000 titles in more than 40 languages and 400 journals each year. OUP's broad academic and educational spectrum includes dictionaries, English language learning materials, scholarly monographs, and schoolbooks. Beyond traditional publishing products, OUP provides services such as digital learning and assessment platforms as well as online research tools.
