Oxford University Press provides free online access to biomedical journals for healthcare professionals responding to earthquake in Nepal -

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) is partnering with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) as they launch their Emergency Access Initiative (EAI) to provide free access to biomedical research for healthcare professionals and aid workers responding to the recent earthquake in Nepal. As part of this initiative, OUP will provide free access to over 532,000 articles from 71 journals, including Epidemiologic Reviews, International Health, and Pathogens and Disease which will be freely available until May 23, 2015.

The EAI is a collaborative partnership between NLM and participating publishers to provide free access to full-text from over 650 biomedical journals and over 4,000 reference books and online databases to healthcare professionals and libraries affected by disasters. The EAI serves as a temporary collection replacement and/or supplement for libraries affected by disasters that need to continue to serve medical staff and affiliated users. It is also intended for medical personnel responding to the specified disaster.

OUP, a department of the University of Oxford, is the largest university press in the world, currently publishing over 6,000 titles in more than 40 languages each year. OUP's broad academic and educational spectrum includes dictionaries, journals, scholarly monographs, and schoolbooks. Beyond traditional publishing products, OUP provides services such as digital learning and assessment platforms as well as online research tools.
