Oxford University Press to provide usage statistics to library customers compliant with new COUNTER Code of Practice, Release 5 -

Oxford University Press will provide usage statistics to library customers that are compliant with the new COUNTER Code of Practice, Release 5 this summer. The COUNTER Code of Practice is the industry-standard format for usage reporting of electronic resources. Oxford University Press will be one of the first publishers to be compliant with Release 5, well ahead of the required date of January 2019 set by COUNTER.

COUNTER is an international initiative designed to serve librarians, publishers, and intermediaries by facilitating the recording and exchange of online usage statistics. Release 5 of the Code of Practice has been developed and improved due to the contributions of both libraries and content providers. The new reports are designed to be clearer, more flexible, and more consistent, enabling customers to see the value of the electronic resources to which they subscribe.

Oxford University Press provides customers with monthly usage reports that enable library customers to analyse how their Journals and Online Products resources are being used, such as the number of full-text article views.
