Palgrave Macmillan imprint to continue as part of Springer Nature -

Global academic and business publisher Palgrave Macmillan has announced that the Palgrave Macmillan imprint will continue as part of Springer Nature, publishing books, monographs and journals in professional, business, finance and the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The Palgrave higher education imprint will also continue as part of Springer Nature.

Palgrave Macmillan continues to publish over 2000 books and monographs a year aimed at an academic and professional audience, and there is no change to its publishing programme. With strong publishing teams in New York and London, and a growing programme in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, Palgrave Macmillan will publish more titles globally in 2015 than ever before. All existing contacts and relationships continue unchanged.

St Martin's Press recently announced that they will be retiring the Palgrave imprint, a boutique imprint that publishes 45-50 original titles per year. St Martin's Press use of the Palgrave imprint has been specifically for Palgrave Macmillan's trade non-fiction list for serious non-fiction, aimed at a general audience. The trade non-fiction list moved to Macmillan Publishers and St Martin's Press in 2014, reflecting the close alignment of these titles with the St Martin's Press and wider Macmillan Publishers portfolio.

Springer Nature is now the leading academic and professional book publisher, publishing more than 10000 new titles a year. Springer Nature was formed in May 2015, following the merger of much of Macmillan Science and Education and Springer Science+Business Media.
