Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi sees good return on investment with success of EDS and Sirsidynix -

Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi has announced that its usage of resources has maintained a steady increase after two years of implementing EBSCO Discovery Service and SirsiDynix.

When the university first looked at discovery services they considered many options but chose EDS and SirsiDynix to optimise and increase use of the library's collection— which includes 23 databases and 80,000 e-books. Ensuring a good return on investments was a priority for the university and now they can see their decision to go with EDS and SirsiDynix was the right one.

EBSCO and SirsiDynix have partnered to provide mutual customers with easier access to databases, e-journals and other content that researchers are seeking by integrating EDS into SirsiDynix's eResource Central solution. The partnership allows libraries to take advantage of the benefits of both services and mutual customers will get better, easier access to their resources.

EDS and SirsiDynix was officially launched in 2012 and according to Johan Engelbrecht, Head of Library at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi the availability of EDS and Sirsi has had a positive impact on their library.

Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi attributes the relevancy ranking of results, ability to refine searches and array of customization options to their success. Feedback from staff and students continues to be very positive.

EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customised index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box-searching made even more powerful because of the quality of its relevance and value ranking technology.
