Peking University to deploy Serials Solutions Summon Discovery Service -

Serials Solutions, a business unit of the US-based ProQuest LLC, has announced that the Peking University in China has selected the Summon service to improve the discoverability and usability of its vast collection of digital resources and library materials. Recognised for its academic achievements and modern Chinese education, Peking University claims to be one of the top research and teaching centers serving more than 45,000 students. It is the first library in China to adopt the Summon service.

As one of the largest libraries of its kind in Asia, the Peking University Library subscribes to tens of thousands of electronic journals and boasts a wealth of local and international content in its physical library. The Summon service will enable the University's researchers to receive the most relevant information from the full breadth of content found in the library's licensed collections, and ensure that these invaluable resources are more easily found and used.

Peking University joins more than 300 libraries worldwide subscribing to the Summon service, many of which are seeing a substantial increase in the use of their library's collections. With a single unified index, the Summon service provides instant access to the breadth of authoritative content that is the hallmark of great libraries.
