Kastango will discuss how and when to use single-dose vials (SDVs) and multiple-dose vials (MDVs). He will review the USP, CDC and FDA definitions of SDVs and MDVs and their safe use in compounded sterile preparations and on patient care units.
Kastango is an elected member of the United States Pharmacopoeia Sterile Compounding Committee (2005-2010). Over the years, he has held multiple American Society of Health-System Pharmacists chairmanships and committee positions.
