Publisher Pion, UK, has announced the publication of an open-access, author-pays, sister journal Perception. The new journal, entitled i-Perception, will exist only in electronic form. The journal will however have the same editorial board and refereeing standards as Perception. With this move, the publisher seeks to offer an alternative route to publication for academic papers on all the senses and the interactions between them.
i-Perception covers the same academic areas. While Perception will continue as a free-to-publish, pay-to-read journal of the traditional sort, i-Perception is a pay-to-publish, free-to-read journal, thereby disseminating refereed accounts of research as widely as possible.
The two journals will be treated separately bibliographically. As regards indexing and other listings, both journals will share a common editorial board, refereeing standards and have similar submission procedures.
