Digital preservation specialist Portico has announced that Rhode Island Medical Society (RIMS) will preserve e-journals with Portico, ensuring that they will be secure and available into the future.
Founded in 1812, RIMS is the eighth oldest organisation of its kind in the nation. It is a voluntary association of physicians, physician assistants and medical students that supports and advocates for all Rhode Island physicians in their efforts to provide the best possible care to their patients. RIMS represents the interests, values, and needs of the medical profession and promotes enlightened public policy in the field of health care.
Since 1917, RIMS has published the monthly Rhode Island Medical Journal since 1917. The journal transformed into an electronic-only publication in 2013.
