Portico and the Texas Digital Library (TDL), along with colleagues at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), are have announced a partnership to support the mission of preserving the scholarly record.
Portico is a community-supported digital preservation service that safeguards access to e-journals, e-books, and digital collections to ensure they remain accessible and usable for future researchers, scholars, and students through a methodology that includes replicas located with trusted partners. Starting in January 2023, Texas Digital Library will host a Portico replica using storage resources at TACC.
As one of the leading National Science Foundation-academic advanced computing centers in the country, the partnership makes full use of TACC’s cutting-edge cyberinfrastructure that provides powerful and advanced capabilities.
TDL’s partnership with Portico expands its role as a leading cultural heritage community-based provider of digital preservation services for libraries and archives. In collaboration with its members and partners, TDL provides access to distributed digital preservation storage solutions for library collections, as well as consulting and training for member institutions.
