Digital preservation specialist Portico is organising a 45-minute webinar on e-book preservation. The webinar is scheduled for September 10, 2:00 p.m. Eastern.
Amy Kirchhoff, Portico archive product manager and co-author of ‘Preserving E-books,’ a new Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) TechWatch report, will answer the question ‘What will it take to ensure long-term access to e-books?’and will discuss other current developments and issues in e-books.
Topics that will be covered include format issues, including the sometimes tight coupling of e-book content with particular hardware platforms; DRM restrictions on e-book access; and e-book publication and the diverse business ecosystem that surrounds it.
The webinar is expected to be of interest to publishers and librarians interested in e-book preservation issues and librarians growing their e-book collections.
