As part of this collaboration, Portico will archive existing Ebook Central titles and incorporate new books added to the collection in the future.
Since 2009, Portico has been engaged in ebook preservation, currently safeguarding over 2.4 million books from 420 publishers and digital platforms. Through its agreements, Portico preserves an estimated 200,000 newly published books each year, ensuring continued accessibility to scholarly content.
This initiative addresses the growing need for reliable digital preservation solutions across various ebook platforms, allowing libraries to secure ongoing access to purchased and licensed content.
