The NISO Plus Planning Committee has published the preliminary program for NISO Plus 2025 Global/Online, scheduled as a virtual event in September. The committee has completed the proposal review process and confirmed the first set of selected sessions.
The upcoming program will address a range of developments and challenges in the information community. Topics include the ethical implications of evolving AI technologies, strategies to strengthen open research and research integrity, changes in accessibility regulations, and innovations in metadata management. Each session is structured to include interactive dialogue, allowing participants to exchange perspectives and explore potential solutions collaboratively.
This year’s event will also feature two keynote speakers. One will share insights on the use of AI in the development of a BBC Maestro mystery-writing course, while the other will examine leadership approaches in the context of current challenges in scholarly communication.
The event is supported by several sponsors, including Cadmore Media, figshare, the American Chemical Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Bowker, Impelsys, OpenAthens, Project MUSE, and Silverchair. Their support has enabled the organizers to offer reduced registration fees. For NISO members, early-bird rates are $130 per individual and $100 per person for member groups of five or more, valid through August 15. Discounted rates are also available for participants in low- and middle-income countries.
Comprehensive session and speaker details will be posted shortly on the official conference platform. Until then, updates are available on the event website. Early registration is encouraged to secure discounted pricing before the August 15 deadline.
