Prof. Shu-Li You joins Science of Synthesis editorial board -

Prof. Shu-Li You will join the editorial board of the chemical methods reference work Science of Synthesis (SOS), as of January 1, 2018. Prof. You, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, China, will take over from Prof. E. Jim Thomas. Thomas, formerly Professor for Synthetic Chemistry at the University of Manchester (UK) and co-founder of Science of Synthesis, will leave the editorial board after 17 years of service.

Science of Synthesis is used by chemists in corporations, research and educational institutions around the world, whether as interactive online tool offering full-text and structure search functions or as printed edition. The reference work delivers proven synthesis procedures for a wide range of different compound classes. Prof. Thomas has been a member of the SOS editorial board since first printed volumes of the series Science of Synthesis, Houben-Weyl Methods of Molecular Transformations were published in 2000.

From 2004, Prof. Shu-Li You worked at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation as a Principal Investigator before returning to SIOC in 2006. In January 2017, he was appointed as the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry at SIOC. Prof. Shu-Li You's current research interests include asymmetric catalysis, synthetic methodology, natural product synthesis, and medicinal chemistry. He received numerous awards for his research, including the AstraZeneca Excellence in Chemistry Award, the RSC Merck Award, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation. In 2010, he was the winner of the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award.

As of January 2018, Prof. You will join the international Science of Synthesis editorial board, whose eight members work closely together with the Thieme SOS editorial team to continuously develop the reference work.
