Prof. Thierry Ollevier named new Editor-in-Chief of Thieme Chemistry journal SynOpen -

Thieme has announced the appointment of Professor Thierry Ollevier of Université Laval, Québec, Canada, as the new Editor-in-Chief of the SynOpen Editorial Board. SynOpen – Thieme’s high-quality open access journal – offers fast, flexible, and fair services to its authors, using unique crowd-sourcing peer review.

Launched in 2017 under the leadership of Professor Laurence Harwood (University of Reading, UK), SynOpen is an international journal that publishes high-quality articles on chemical synthesis, including synthesis, catalysis, organometallic-, medicinal-, biological- and photochemistry, as well as related disciplines. Professor Thierry Ollevier, who has served as a member of the SynOpen Advisory Board since 2019, plans to establish his own vision for the success of the journal.

SynOpen will further grow via the organization of special issues focusing on cutting-edge topics that will be steered by the board members together with guest editors. SynOpen also offers new article types, such as Spotlight articles and Graphical Reviews, aiming at providing a quick snapshot review of the latest trends in a hot area using only chemical schemes.

SynOpen is an international, single-anonymous peer-reviewed journal reporting current research results in chemical sciences. It provides the community with open access content, mainly but not exclusively, in the areas of synthesis, catalysis, organometallic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, photochemistry, polymer, and materials synthesis. SynOpen offers the opportunity to publish both experimental and theoretical studies as well as to publish scientific primary data. SynOpen also includes insightful review articles intended for new researchers as well as specialists in this field. All articles that pass the speedy crowd review process of SynOpen are freely available upon acceptance for all to read and download from Thieme ejournals. All SynOpen articles are also available in the Researcher App.
