The European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) has announced the appointment of Professor Melania Manco as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of their newly launched journal, Obesity and Endocrinology. This new publication aims to advance the understanding of obesity through comprehensive coverage of the basic, translational, and clinical aspects of endocrinology.
The journal, which is set to debut in Q2 2025, will feature contributions from leading experts in the field. Submissions are now open via the journal’s website, inviting cutting-edge research and insights on obesity and related endocrinological issues. Professor Manco will lead an esteemed editorial board, comprised of renowned specialists in both obesity and endocrinology, to steer the journal's scientific direction.
Professor Manco, a clinical research scientist and consultant endocrinologist at Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome, brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Her extensive academic and clinical background includes serving as co-chair of the EASO Collaborating Centres for Obesity Management (COMs) Working Group, board member of the Italian Society of Obesity (SIO), and chair of the Obesity Study Group within the Italian Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (SIEDP).
With her leadership, Obesity and Endocrinology is poised to become a leading platform for advancing the science and clinical understanding of obesity.
