ProQuest Syndetic Solutions now offers local content option for current subscribers -

ProQuest has announced that its Syndetic Solutions now offers a local content option for current subscribers. By leveraging the existing Digital Asset functionality in Syndetics, libraries can now upload and access images of their Local Content Collection and display them electronically in their OPAC. Images can be of any items; maps, photos, or other historic content.

Syndetics is known for providing specialised high-quality enriched title detail. With the integration of your local content, Syndetic Solutions not only facilitates the widest possible access to the existing information, but makes your local content discoverable and more engaging to the researcher.

Images should be of the highest resolution and sent to a library-specific FTP, which the Syndetics Corrections team will set up for each library. The library assigns a unique identifier (for example, what is in your MARC record) and sends the data to Syndetics to be uploaded.

There is no cost for this upgrade, and images can be accessed through the OPAC in the same way that the library accesses their Syndetics images currently, by calling the unique identifier through the Syndetics Image Service.
