Publishing services provider PSP Consultancy, UK, has announced that it will publish Scholarly Communications Report (SCR), the monthly digest of all that is new and influential in scholarly publishing. The move follows an announcement, earlier this year, to close SCR. SCR will now be published under the editorship of Pippa Smart. She is the editor of the ALPSP Alert, and regularly provides industrial intelligence for publishing companies and international organisations.
This is a tremendous period of upheaval for scholarly communication and a huge amount of opinion and news is published daily. The aim of SCR is to summarise this in a format that busy professionals can quickly digest and which will help to inform their decisions and business. Each month the newsletter selects key new items and provides a concise summary with its implications for commercial, society and academic publishers, intermediaries and subscription agents as well as library managers responsible for print and electronic resource provision.
Established in 1996, the Scholarly Communications Report was written and edited by David Brown and Albert Prior - both of whom will remain on the Editorial Board. It is published at the end of each month (with a combined July/August issue), and provided in print and online.
