The 12th PUBMET Conference on Scholarly Communication in the Context of Open Science will take place from September 11–12, 2025, at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology. The event addresses scholarly publishing, metrics, and assessment, and is supported by national and international organizations including the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, Open AIRE, Sparc Europe, EASE and Ni4OS Europe.
Topics will include research transparency, peer review, journal publishing standards, and the role of AI in open science. A new PUBMET Conference Series Collection on ScienceOpen will expand access to proceedings from previous events, with 2024 and 2025 content to be added.
PUBMET 2024 examined research assessment, focusing on transparency, bias mitigation, cost-effectiveness, peer review process, reviewer diversity, role clarification, capacity building, and technological advancements. PUBMET 2023 explored AI in scholarly communication and institutional publishing, while PUBMET 2022 addressed fairness in open science and the role of media visibility in scientific and social impact.
