Radcliffe Group appoints inaugural Editor-in-Chief for new interventional cardiology platform -

Radcliffe Group has named Dr. Karim Al-Azizi as the first Editor-in-Chief of Transcatheter Academy, a new digital platform dedicated to interventional cardiology education. The platform is expected to launch later this summer.

Transcatheter Academy will consolidate Radcliffe’s structural heart and interventional content, including materials from Radcliffe Cardiology, into a single, free-to-access destination. The platform will feature case-based learning, educational webinars, journal clubs, clinical trial updates, interviews, and protocol resources tailored to practicing interventionalists.

High-impact content from Radcliffe’s open access journal Interventional Cardiology3 – Reviews, Research, Resources will also be featured, offering academic support alongside clinical resources.

Dr. Al-Azizi currently serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at The Heart Hospital Plano, Baylor Scott & White Health, in Texas. In his new role, he will lead the editorial direction of Transcatheter Academy and work to build a global educational community for interventional cardiologists.

Radcliffe Group leadership highlighted Al-Azizi’s clinical expertise and commitment to education as central to the platform’s mission. The initiative aims to support lifelong learning and optimize procedural practice through high-quality, accessible digital content.

Transcatheter Academy will complement Radcliffe’s existing offerings and is expected to become a key resource for clinicians seeking up-to-date guidance and peer-driven insights in the field of interventional cardiology.
