Members and fellows of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) can now publish open access articles in Clinical Medicine (ClinMed) without incurring article processing charges, saving up to £1,850 ($2,460) per article depending on exchange rates.
The waived publishing fee provides an opportunity for RCP-affiliated clinicians to disseminate research without financial barriers, enabling them to conserve funding for ongoing or future projects. This benefit applies to all RCP members and fellows submitting to ClinMed, the organization’s peer-reviewed medical journal.
ClinMed is ranked 46th out of 332 journals in the “Medicine, General and Internal” category, placing it in the top 15% of journals in the field. Its 2024 Journal Impact Factor (JIF) rose from 3.6 to 3.9, signaling increased visibility and citation rates for published work.
Publishing open access in ClinMed enables broader dissemination of research, improved discoverability, and opportunities for global collaboration. The journal also serves as a platform for high-quality educational resources that support clinical practice.
In addition to waived publication fees, RCP membership provides access to funding and award opportunities, discounts on conferences, and a range of education and training programs. Information about publishing in ClinMed and RCP’s second journal, Future Healthcare Journal, is available on the organization’s website.
