ReadCube announces expansion of its suite of scholarly literature tools -

ReadCube has announced the expansion of its suite of scholarly literature tools. Along with a new release of the popular free ReadCube desktop application, ReadCube welcomes the addition of ReadCube's iOS apps, its Word-compatible citation tool (SmartCite), and a premium offering with cloud sync (ReadCube Pro). Since launching its beta version in the end of 2011, ReadCube's suite of tools have supported over 5.7 million researchers worldwide.

ReadCube's desktop application is available free for both Mac & PC and offers researchers the ability to discover and access literature faster, organise their literature and enjoy interactive reading of scholarly articles. ReadCube Pro, a new premium add-on to the desktop application, offers cloud sync with unlimited storage space.

Priced at $5 per month (or $45 per year), ReadCube Pro allows ReadCube users to access their library, notes, and recommendations instantly across all their devices.

ReadCube's new free iOS apps are the perfect extension to the ReadCube desktop and includes all popular desktop features such as: integrated search for easy discovery and article downloads; interactive PDFs for enhanced reading with clickable inline references and annotation tools; personalized recommendations; simple integration with institutional proxies; and easy syncing across multiple devices with cloud sync capabilities.

SmartCite, ReadCube's Word-compatible citation tool, offers researchers an easy-to-use solution to what can often be a time-consuming part of writing a paper. SmartCite enables researchers to easily insert citations from their ReadCube library, create bibliographies, and choose from thousands of journal formatting styles. Plus, unlike other citation tools, SmartCite allows ReadCube users to directly cite articles from online databases and seamlessly collaborate with their co-authors. ReadCube users also enjoy seamless interactions with ReadCube's publishing and institutional partners, enabling readers to add articles direct from publishing partners sites including Nature.com, and access articles through ReadCube's innovative rental and cloud access program.
