Registration opens for NISO Plus Global/Online 2026 Conference -

Registration is now open for the NISO Plus Global/Online conference, scheduled for September 16–17, 2026. The two‑day virtual event will bring together professionals from libraries, publishers, technology and service providers, government agencies, and other sectors to discuss key challenges facing the information community.

For 2026, the NISO Plus Planning Committee has chosen the theme “Connecting Human Futures and Intelligent Systems through Standards.” The program reflects the increasing role of artificial intelligence in the academic ecosystem while emphasizing the importance of keeping human perspectives central to standards development. Topics will include accessibility, research integrity, metadata, AI transparency, usage statistics, and the management of AI agents.

Organizers indicated that the conference will incorporate interactive elements throughout. Each session will be followed by breakout discussions to encourage broader participation, and standards update sessions will include time for feedback on next steps and potential revisions.

Sponsors supporting the event include Cadmore Media, Figshare, the American Society for Mechanical Engineers, and Silverchair. Discounts on registration are available for NISO members, groups, and residents of low‑ and middle‑income countries. Early bird rates are available until August 11.
