The Association of Research Libraries (ARL), in collaboration with the Personnel Administrators and Staff Development Officers Discussion Group of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), is hosting a Human Resources Symposium. The event is scheduled for November 15–16, 2012, in Washington, DC. Registration for this symposium is now open.
Human resources are among the most complex, challenging, and valuable assets of the organisation. Management of these resources - to recognise, recruit for, and reward new skills; develop leadership capacity; and redeploy talent within the organisation to address new needs - requires strategic thinking and innovative processes. This symposium brings together experts in human resources management and library leaders to share successes and best practices in the field to meet the challenges of staffing the 21st-century library.
