Research Information partners with London Info International to host its first one-day conference -

Research Information will host its first one-day conference, in partnership with London Info International. 'Challenges in the Scholarly Publishing Cycle,' an interactive one-day conference for publishers, information professionals and academics, will be held on December 4 at the Business Design Centre, London.

Organised by Research Information magazine, in partnership with London Info International, this one-day event, forming a pre-conference day to London Info International itself, will address the most difficult issues in scholarly publishing from the perspectives of three key stakeholder groups - publishers, information professionals and academics. Building on a specially-commissioned piece of research, to be outlined in the opening keynote, the day will provide representatives from each of the three sectors an understanding of problems faced by those in the other stakeholder groups, and give an opportunity to strengthen working practices and partnerships among all parties.

Content for the day is being arranged by the team at Research Information, led by Tim Gillett (Editor) and Warren Clark (Publisher).

Delegate booking will open shortly.

Speakers are now invited to submit papers for consideration. Organisers are looking for a publisher that has undertaken an author engagement project that has demonstrably changed the way it deals with research authors; a publisher that has worked with librarians/information professionals to overcome issues; an institution/information professional that has taken an initiative to a publisher(s) that has resulted in significant changes to the way the two stakeholders work together; an institution/information professional that has engaged its researchers and redeveloped the way it provides access to scholarly research as a result; an author/researcher that has worked with a publisher(s) to change/improve a particular aspect of the submission process for the benefit of the author; and an author/researcher that has driven change within an institution by working with the librarian/information professional department.

Those interested should submit a short abstract (max 500 words) for consideration to Tim Gillett (tim.gillett@europascience.com) by June 30, 2017.
