Research Solutions, Inc., a pioneer in providing on-demand access to scientific, technical and medical (STM) information for life science companies, academic institutions, and other research-intensive organisations, has announced the summer 2015 product release of the journal content access and management platform Article Galaxy by subsidiary Reprints Desk, Inc., featuring breakthroughs in research workflow efficiencies.
Already a platform for one-stop shopping and lowest cost acquisition of full-text journal articles from participating publishers without requiring the use of credit cards for each transaction, the Article Galaxy summer 2015 release further enhances to time-to-papers with 'in browser' PDF downloads for non-subscribed content so researchers worldwide can access full-text journal articles, book chapters, and other resources 24/7 and immediately within the online requesting workflow.
Summer 2015 enhancements, which moved into production for Reprints Desk customers on August 14, 2015, include: quick "In-Browser" document delivery downloads; auto-population of bibliographic information into order form fields; and type ahead functionality.
Article Galaxy is based on an 'any article, any publisher' sourcing model. Because the platform is not limited to any single collection, direct sourcing arrangements enable Reprints Desk to more quickly pull full-text content directly from publisher servers, then serve the content up to customers for online or offline viewing. The newest publisher partnerships enable Reprints Desk to expand electronic sourcing to Postgraduate Medicine, Hospital Practice, and The Physician and Sports Medicine from Taylor & Francis; to include titles in the social sciences, economics, and political theory from Palgrave Macmillan; and to more quickly deliver content from Thomson Reuters.
