The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has announced a three-year open access agreement with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, the Turkish Academic Network and Information Center, covering the period from 2026 through 2028.
Under the agreement, researchers at more than 200 participating institutions across Türkiye will receive continued access to the RSC’s full portfolio of chemical science journals. Eligible corresponding authors will also be able to publish their research as open access in RSC hybrid and gold open access journals without paying individual Article Processing Charges (APCs).
The agreement is described as part of Türkiye’s national strategy to increase the visibility and impact of its scientific output. By removing individual publishing fees, the arrangement enables research to be made available to the global community immediately upon publication. It’s anticipated that researchers will gain access to international publications and will be able to increase the visibility of their work by publishing open access in RSC journals. Also, the collaboration is expected to contribute to Türkiye’s alignment with open science policies and to enhance the international impact of research outputs.
