The Royal Society of Chemistry has announced an agreement with non-profit electronic archiving service provider Portico, US, to preserve its entire online journals collection of 26 titles. With the inclusion of the RSC journals, over 7,400 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive.
Through this agreement with Portico, the Society seeks to ensure that its online journals collection will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. The RSC has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico.
Wholly owned by the Royal Society of Chemistry, RSC Publishing publishes a wide range of journals, magazines, databases and books. It is claimed to be one of the largest publishers of chemical science information in the world.
