RSC and ResearchGate collaborate to enhance accessibility of open access journals -

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has signed a new partnership with ResearchGate to expand the reach of its open access (OA) portfolio. ResearchGate, a professional network for researchers, will offer an enhanced presence to RSC journals on its new offering, "Journal Home." This collaboration has the potential to accelerate growth in both readership and submissions for RSC's OA journals.

This partnership follows RSC's commitment last year to transition to a wholly open access publishing model within five years. As part of the agreement, any content from RSC OA journals will be syndicated directly to ResearchGate, dedicated journal profiles will be created and made accessible on ResearchGate, and each journal will be prominently represented on all of its associated article pages on ResearchGate.

By making the OA content available directly on ResearchGate, RSC hopes to facilitate ease of access to this content across the globe and reach a broader network of researchers, not only chemists.

Authors who have articles published in RSC OA journals will have their work automatically added to their publication pages on ResearchGate. They will also receive access to data on readership and learn about potential publishing opportunities across RSC's growing portfolio.

The RSC's mission is to help make the world a better place, and it believes that open access is crucial to achieving this. By building a fairer, more equitable society, where everyone can access and benefit from discoveries, including researchers, funders, policymakers, and the general public.
