Scientific publisher RSC Publishing, UK, the publishing arm of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has announced the 2010 launch of a new journal Chemical Science. Researchers from across all the chemical sciences will now have a new dedicated home for presenting findings of exceptional significance. Professor David MacMillan of Princeton, USA will serve as the Editor-in-Chief. He will lead an international team of Associate Editors to drive the scientific development and quality of the content of the journal.
Making the announcement at the RSC booth at the ACS Fall 2009 National Meeting in Washington, Editorial Director Dr James Milne described the new venture as a milestone in the development of the RSC publishing portfolio. The new peer-reviewed journal will publish most significant cutting-edge research in the field of chemical sciences. It will build on the successes of related RSC flagship journals Chemical Communications and Chemical Society Reviews, both of which enjoy an international reputation for high quality, high impact content and speed of publication.
From launch until December 2011, the current issue of Chemical Science will be freely available online for all readers via the website www.rsc.org/chemicalscience. Free institutional online access will also be available to registered users.
