SAE International creates J2746 Software Assessment Repository -

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International, US, has created the J2746 Software Assessment Repository with the aim of improving automotive software development capabilities and promoting more effective software process improvement activities and assessments. The new repository seeks to promote higher fidelity and more responsible disclosure of software development capability in a secure and easy-to-use format.

The repository is a secure online database system that facilitates accurate and secure sharing of corporations’ software development capabilities. The repository does not mandate the use of one assessment method over another. Instead, it reports the salient results from industry accepted assessment methods, such as Automotive SPICE and CMMI, and provides guidelines for understanding in a uniform manner.

While there is no fee to view information on the site, $500 will be charged for an organisation to enter an assessment. For a limited time, SAE International is offering a fee reduction of 25 percent. Assessed organisations can control who views their information.
