Safari Books launches version 3 of Information Technology Infrastructure Library -

Safari Books Online, a US-based e-reference joint venture between publishers O'Reilly Media, Inc. and Pearson Technology Group, has announced the launch of version 3 of the official Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) book series. The ITIL book series provides guidelines, processes and best practices for managing information technology infrastructure, development and operations.

The latest version provides customers with a detailed description of important IT practices and includes comprehensive checklists, tasks and procedures that can be tailored to any IT organisation. The books are published by The Stationery Office (TSO) on behalf of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), a UK government office that is part of HM Treasury. Safari Books Online's ITIL offering includes all of the most recent ITIL Version 3 publications - the five core titles as well as eight supplemental titles. These publications focus on an integrated service lifecycle approach to IT service management.

Demand for information about IT and technology management best practices continues to grow. ITIL is responding to this market need with important framework changes in Version 3, completing an evolution from specific practices to broader guidelines to now an integrated service lifecycle approach.

Safari Book Online subscribers will be able to search and read the official collection of ITIL titles, as well as to save and bookmark searches and content. The complete collection of 13 ITIL Version 3 titles is now available on Safari Book Online. As new official ITIL titles are published by TSO, Safari Books Online will expand its ITIL library to include them.
