Academic publisher SAGE has announced that Gretchen M. Bataille, President of the University of North Texas (UNT) has joined the SAGE board of directors.
Named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in 2008 by the Dallas Business Journal, Dr. Bataille is the first female president at the 116 year-old University of North Texas, where she has earned recognition for her achievements and for UNT's growing stature. In addition to her current position at the University of North Texas, Dr. Bataille has also served, in various capacities, at the University of North Carolina, Washington State University, and Arizona State University.
The SAGE Board of Directors meets quarterly and helps guide all aspects of the company including such areas as financial performance and budget, journals, international growth, and the future of educational publishing. Dr. Bataille joins eight other Board members, who have achieved considerable recognition in their respective industries.
