Sage has appointed Dr. Akshay Anand and Dr. Sanjay A. Pai to its Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Advisory Board to strengthen engagement with the healthcare ecosystem and support translational impact in medical research. The appointments mark a step in expanding Sage’s advisory capacity in South Asia, particularly in India’s evolving healthcare research community.
Dr. Anand, Professor at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and Editor‑in‑Chief of Annals of Neurosciences, brings expertise in research infrastructure and institutional partnerships. He noted that his association with Sage India reflects a shared interest in advancing research quality, governance, and editorial standards, which he views as essential as India’s academic and medical research landscape continues to develop.
Dr. Pai, a surgical pathologist with extensive editorial experience and involvement with the World Association of Medical Editors, contributes perspectives on research governance and global standards. He indicated that he values the opportunity to engage with Sage India as it expands its work with medical and academic institutions, highlighting the organization’s reputation for credibility, ethics, and rigor in publishing.
As members of the advisory board, Dr. Anand and Dr. Pai will guide Sage India’s medical portfolio and contribute to product and service strategy. Dr. Sugata Ghosh, Deputy Managing Director of Sage South Asia, stated that the appointments reflect Sage’s focus on building deeper partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem, noting that both advisors bring expertise needed to advance engagement with the medical research community.
