Academic publisher SAGE has announced that the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division (PSP) of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) has awarded the SAGE Journals Online (SJO) platform the 2007 Award for Excellence for best platform in the electronic publication category. This announcement comes only weeks after SAGE was selected as a shortlisted entry for the Independent Publisher's Guild Academic and Professional Publisher of the year award.
Judged by peer publishers, librarians, and medical professionals, the PSP Awards for Excellence recognise the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content, published annually in 28 disciplines. Each year, publishers and authors are recognised at the annual PSP conference in Washington for their commitment to pioneering works of research and for contributing to the conception, production, and design of landmark works in their fields.
SAGE Journals Online, SAGE's online journal delivery platform, provides access to over 485 SAGE journals in the Social Sciences and STM sectors. Developed in association with Stanford University's HighWire Press, SJO provides search technology and enhanced subscription options for journal collections.
