Academic publisher SAGE has been named the Independent Publisher’s Guild (IPG) Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year 2012. The announcement was made as part of the IPG’s annual conference.
SAGE won this category with a professional publishing programme, wide-ranging digital activity, high production standards and sharp global strategies. Judges also noted its ability to attract and retain outstanding staff and authors, and said it had retained a strong sense of independence while growing into a big player.
Now firmly established as one of the highlights of the publishing calendar, the IPG Awards are in their sixth year. The IPG celebrates 50 years in 2012 as the industry’s membership organisation supporting independent publishers in the UK to thrive.
