Academic publisher SAGE has announced the appointment of Ed McBride as US Library Sales Director.
Ed comes to SAGE from the large US library consortium, LYRASIS, where he was Chief Member Engagement Officer. While at LYRASIS, he was responsible for building the sales and marketing organisation that serves 25 states and 4,500 libraries. Prior to LYRASIS, Ed held various positions at Thomson Gale over a nine year period, primarily in sales, eventually becoming Senior Vice President, Customer Resource Center.
Ed serves on the board of ALA's Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations, a board that serves as an advocacy group for libraries and public access to information.
