Sage, the independent academic publisher, has appointed Khal Rudin to the newly established role of Chief Commercial Officer, with his tenure set to begin in January 2025. This strategic move aims to enhance Sage’s customer-focused approach across its global operations, aligning the business to better serve its diverse customers and end-users.
Currently serving as Senior Vice President at Sage, Rudin has been a key figure in the company’s growth. He initially joined Adam Matthew (AM) in 2002—a company later acquired by Sage—where he progressed through roles in sales, marketing, and product development. Rudin was instrumental in transforming AM’s offerings from print to digital in 2007, launching 14 new digital products that paved the way for the company’s expansion into the US market in 2010. When Sage acquired AM in 2012, he continued as Managing Director, guiding AM’s growth from a team of 30 to over 100 and broadening its portfolio from 26 products to 130, including Quartex, a SaaS platform for digitizing and showcasing library archives.
In 2022, Rudin took on a broader role at Sage as Senior Vice President, where he oversaw sales and marketing for Sage’s library and journal businesses. As Chief Commercial Officer, he will assume responsibility for sales and marketing across Sage’s global journals and library divisions, as well as its international college division outside the U.S.
Rudin’s appointment marks a significant step in Sage’s mission to deliver innovative and accessible resources to the educational and research communities worldwide.
