Academic publisher SAGE has announced the launch of SAGE Research Methods Datasets, a new resource that supports the teaching and independent learning of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods used in the social sciences. Using real-world data from around the world accompanied by step-by-step instructions, this resource teaches statistical and analytical techniques used in Business, Education, Health, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology, among other disciplines.
SAGE Research Methods Datasets was designed to save time for research methods teaching faculty looking for teaching datasets and to support graduate students learning methods on their own. Each dataset comes with an explanation of the analytical approach, an example to demonstrate the method, and a review to reinforce the material. Users are invited to practice analyses themselves by downloading step-by-step guides and data files.
Quantitative datasets included in the collection are drawn from large surveys, experiments, or government data sources and have been simplified to make them easier for pedagogical use. Qualitative datasets include interview transcripts, field study notes, and visual aids.
Users can browse datasets by method, such as ANOVA, chi-square test, or thematic analysis; discipline, such as education, business, or political science; and data type, such as survey data, case notes, or interview transcripts.
